This artwork is part of a series titled swimming towards the light. Swimming towards the light is a representation of being too deep underwater. It’s dark, it’s cold, it’s quiet. Your logic brain knows that it is ok, you will swim up and everything is fine. However, your survival brain panics a little about making it to the surface.

At the surface is the moment you make it to the top of the water. The dark blues of the dive mixing with the surface light, a ripple as you come out of the water. A sweep of relief, the anxiety subsides.
